The whitebait season for all areas in New Zealand except the West Coast of the South Island and the Chatham Islands is open between 15th August and 30th November (inclusive).
The Chatham Islands runs from 1st December to the last day in February (inclusive)

West Coast Of South Island
The whitebait season for the West Coast of the South Island is from the 1st September to 14th November (inclusive).
